Arguably the best staff party yet, the Comiskey Group hosted their annual Comiskey Christmas event at Cloudland in Fortitude Valley. Nearly 400 staff members gathered for the glitzy Studio 54-themed night to celebrate the year that was! In true hospitality style, Christmas 2024 was celebrated in February 2025, after the busy season, so staff could let their hair down!
Guests arrived on a glamourous red carpet, greeted by a stilt walker before stepping into a disco wonderland. Live band Laboum set the stage on fire as the night kicked off. Cloudland’s opulent décor, featuring disco balls and chandeliers, created the perfect party atmosphere. Guests were treated to cocktails upon arrival, followed by decadent food platters and an open bar, with DJs spinning tunes all night long across two stages.
The event was a spectacle to behold, with jugglers, cage dancers, acrobats, hula hoopers, neon signs, photo booths and shimmer walls creating a vibrant atmosphere. But it was the staff that stole the show! Sporting sequins, tassles, flares, boots, big sunglasses and perms, there was nothing more entertaining than seeing who was wearing what.
Just as Marilyn Monroe might have done, the Comiskey family made a grand entrance in a stretch hummer, dressed in their finest 70s attire.
Each year, Comiskey Group Directors Paul, David, and Rob Comiskey take the stage to express their gratitude and talk about the year’s achievements and future plans.
On the big screen was a list of staff that achieved significant milestones in 2024, celebrating those hitting 5 years, 10 years and OVER 10 years in the business!
Once the formalities concluded, David led the annual sing-along to the group’s unofficial theme song “Sweet Caroline,” before DJ duo headliners KAOS took over.
The Directors thought they were seeing double when cut-outs of their large heads made their way through the dancefloor!
KAOS delivered an epic performance with high-energy choreography and CO2 cannons blasting away!
A big shout out to all our staff who dressed up and hit the town! We couldn’t do what we do without each and every one of you!
