Arguably the boot scootin’ best staff party yet, the Comiskey Group hosted its annual Christmas celebration with a full-scale Wild West takeover at Eatons Hill Hotel. Spanning the Grand Ballroom and expansive outdoor areas, the event brought together more than 500 staff from across the business to celebrate the year that was. In true hospitality style, Christmas 2025 was celebrated in February 2026 after the busy festive season!
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary staff party. The venue was transformed with immersive Wild West theming, multiple bars and food stations, and entertainment at every turn. Cowgirl stilt walkers roamed the crowd, whip-cracking and lasso performances drew cheers, and a live country band set the tone before a line-dancing class had the dancefloor packed. Outside, an animal farm featuring a horse, alpacas, chickens and sheep added a playful touch, while a mechanical bull tested bravery (and balance) among staff.
True to theme, staff went all in with their outfits — cowboy hats, fringe, denim, boots and bold Western flair filled the room, with a best-dressed competition keeping things competitive and fun throughout the night.
As the sun went down, the party only escalated. The ultimate surprise: recently crowned #2 on Triple J’s Hottest 100, Keli Holiday took to the stage, leaving staff absolutely gobsmacked as he performed a full set, including his hit track DANCING2. Fireworks lit up the night, sealing the moment as one for the history books. DJ duo KAOS followed delivering epic production complete with CO₂ cannons and sparklers and then DJ Steen closed the main stage.
Amid the spectacle, the heart of the night remained firmly with the people. Comiskey Group Directors took the stage to thank staff for their dedication, resilience and hard work throughout the year, acknowledging the collective effort behind another strong year for the group.
A major highlight was the debut of the inaugural Rockstar Awards. For the first time, each venue’s General Manager selected one standout team member who exemplified exceptional performance, work ethic and attitude. Each winner was called on stage by the Directors, presented with a personalised trophy and awarded a $500 Comiskey Group voucher to redeem across food, beverage, events or accommodation within the group.
