Comiskey Group Buys Landmark 8 Hectare Site Behind Eatons Hill Hotel

The Comiskey Group is celebrating a huge milestone today after successfully snapping up 638 South Pine Road, Eatons Hill at auction for $3.5 million — and the timing could not have been more perfect.

The 8-hectare freehold parcel, once part of an ex-golf course and now vacant council-owned land, wraps in a prime U-shape around the Comiskey Group’s existing Eatons Hill precinct, home to the award-winning Eatons Hill Hotel, its 4.5-star accommodation, Comiskey Distillery, the Bottlemart Superstore, and the Woolworths-anchored Eatons Hill Village.

Just 20km from Brisbane CBD and sharing access with the South Pine Sports Complex, the site is perfectly placed for the next chapter of one of Queensland’s most iconic recreational precincts.

With the acquisition, the precinct grows from 6 hectares to a massive 14 hectares, setting the stage for better traffic flow, more car parking, enhanced facilities, more accommodation, new offerings and even more reasons for the community to love Eatons Hill.

Director Rob Comiskey said the win couldn’t have come at a better time:

Today is my birthday, and it’s off to a great start! We have been eyeing out the site behind Eatons Hill Hotel for years, strategically we always knew it would be a great buy and it’s a dream realised to be able to have secured it.

When we first built Eatons Hill Hotel, we were just really starting out in the hotel game, it was one of our biggest business risks. We never would have thought it would be so successful, let alone that we’d end up being able to buy the property next door.

It’s times like these that I pinch myself and am so proud of all the hard work my family have done, the epic team we have and just so grateful for the support of our communities. It’s not without them that any of this would be possible. We look forward to using this land to enhance and expand on our current offering, with the community in mind every step of the way”.

For the Comiskey family, the purchase is more than a strategic win — it’s a full-circle moment. Having grown up just down the road in Lawnton, the area has always held a special place in their story. It’s where Director Paul and his wife Erica raised Rob and David, who now stand alongside their father as equal owners of the Comiskey Group. Decades later, the trio is shaping the very community they grew up in.

With this latest acquisition, the Comiskey’s continue their mission to create vibrant places for local families to form incredible memories of their own.
