The 2023 Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence was hosted in Adelaide last night. The Comiskey Group were in attendance at the hotel industry’s night of nights, national finalists in 4 award categories as the state winner of each. The Comiskey Group were honoured to have won 3 national titles, which included:
- Australia’s Best Hotel Group Operator
- Australia’s Best Retail Liquor Outlet (Harry Brown, Eatons Hill Hotel)
- Hall of Fame – Australia’s Best Entertainment Venue (Sandstone Point Hotel)
Director Rob Comiskey was honoured to have received this recognition and enjoyed celebrating with friends, family and industry peers at the event.
“As always, the Australian Hotels Association put on a great event! We’d like to thank the AHA for this recognition and congratulate all winners. We took home 3 awards and celebrated on the night accordingly. Winning the national Best Hotel Group Operator award for the first time was special, over the last few years we have been focusing on company culture, strategy and growth, and so to be recognised for our efforts on a group-level was especially rewarding” said Rob.
In 2022, the Comiskey Group made a significant investment into the renovation of their Harry Brown bottle shop next to Eatons Hill Hotel. Now the Harry Brown brands’ flagship store, the bottle shop oozes character in a European marketplace inspired design. Adding onto the newly renovated store, the Comiskey Group opened Comiskey Distillery. Harry Brown bottle shop customers are able to look through glass windows into the distillery and watch spirits being made whilst perusing the aisles. The stunning renovation along with this unique point of difference saw the group take out “Best Retail Liquor Outlet” at the Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence.
Comiskey Group’s venue, Sandstone Point Hotel was inducted into the national Hall of Fame as Australia’s Best Entertainment Venue. Known for its revolving door of live music, with some of the globe’s biggest talent on its stage, as well as playing host to family-friendly events of all types throughout the year, Sandstone Point Hotel has become an iconic entertainment destination.
