The Comiskey Group has officially announced that the highly anticipated Dakabin Hotel will open its doors on Wednesday, 21st May, with celebrations kicking off from 11:30am, including the ceremonial first beer pour being auctioned for charity.
Within just 48 hours, Dakabin Hotel received over 5,000 bookings, with eager diners rushing to the website to secure their table!
Director Rob Comiskey expressed his appreciation for the community’s enthusiasm, noting that 4,000 people signed up to gain early booking access. “We have already received unprecedented support,” said Comiskey. “To receive over 5,000 bookings in just 48 hours was a fantastic result. It has been so rewarding to see the community rally around and get excited for their new local.”
As one of Queensland’s most recognised hospitality operators, the Comiskey Group is known for iconic venues such as Eatons Hill Hotel, Sandstone Point Hotel, and The Doonan on the Sunshine Coast. Now, the group is proud to bring another flagship destination to life—this time for the Dakabin community in Moreton Bay.
Dakabin Hotel, while part of the broader Comiskey portfolio, has a distinct identity and offering. The venue features a one-restaurant, two-kitchen concept, delivering a unique dining experience that blends modern Australian fare with international influences. The Western kitchen serves favourites inspired by the Americas, Great Britain, and Europe, while the Eastern kitchen presents an Asian fusion menu drawing from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and China. The Eastern kitchen also embraces traditional Japanese culinary methods, including the use of a Hibachi grill.
The hotel’s appeal extends beyond the plate. The Sin Bin Sports Bar will be home to live sport, broadcasting everything from football to tennis on an expansive LED screen, complemented by a circular LED display playing the best of FoxSports. Entertainment will continue throughout the week with live music after work on Fridays and weekends, followed by DJs after dark. Additional features include electronic darts, pool tables, a gaming room, a kids’ arcade, a half basketball court, and a sunken fireplace on the patio—ensuring something for every guest.

Director David Comiskey, Robert’s brother, has been highly involved in the construction-side of the project.

Dakabin Hotel invites you to be the first through the doors at 11:30am, Wednesday 21st May, with the first beer pour auction commencing shortly after. The winning bidder will pour and enjoy the very first beer, with the money going to a local charity.
In conjunction with their recently purchased business, Eumundi Brewery, the Comiskey family have promised to contribute the same amount raised, effectively doubling the donation!
