Rising Star: Graphic Designer Chloe Youngman listed in the Courier Mail’s Young Guns under 25!

At the Comiskey Group, we take great pride in celebrating the achievements of our team—and this month, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on one of our most outstanding emerging talents.

Chloe Youngman, our in-house Graphic Designer, has been named one of The Courier-Mail’s Young Guns Under 25—a prestigious recognition awarded to just 22 rising stars making a meaningful impact in the Moreton Bay region. A stand-out for her creativity, professionalism, and forward-thinking design approach, Chloe continues to elevate the Comiskey Group’s visual identity and strengthen our connection with audiences across Queensland.

A Griffith University graduate, Chloe completed her Bachelor of Design with Distinction in 2020 and joined the Comiskey Group in August 2021 as the company’s in-house Graphic Designer. Her academic excellence saw her receive three consecutive Academic Achievement Awards (2018–2020), and she was recognised early in her career as a finalist in the Queensland Government’s Creative Generations Excellence in Art Program.

When asked what being recognised by The Courier-Mail as a top young creative means to her both personally and professionally, Chloe said it’s “great exposure and a nice bit of reassurance that I’m on the right track.”

“Personally, I won’t lie — the bragging rights are pretty cool too,” she added.

From the outset, Chloe brought passion, originality, and a drive to hit the ground running. She quickly became a creative force within the team—leading the development of brand identities, visual campaigns, marketing collateral, and style guides for Comiskey Group venues. Her work spans everything from menus and signage to large-scale concert posters, merchandise, and digital campaigns.

When asked about her rapid growth and success at just 24, Chloe answered, “I love pushing design boundaries and thinking creatively, and I’m lucky to work at a place that really encourages that mindset.”

Chloe’s design skills play a central role in shaping the creative direction for venues including Sandstone Point Hotel, Eatons Hill Hotel, The Doonan, The Imperial Hotel Eumundi, Oyster Shed Beach Club, BIG4 Sandstone Point Holiday Resort, and Comiskey Distillery.

When reflecting on her favourite creative projects at the Comiskey Group, Chloe points to a few standout moments.

“Designing the liqueur label range for Comiskey Distillery was a highlight — it was a chance to do something totally different and really flex my visual storytelling skills,” she said. “I also love working on venue branding. Seeing it all come to life — especially when the logo ends up on massive signage — is always a bit surreal and incredibly rewarding.”

Chloe’s nomination for the Young Guns list came from Group Marketing Manager Toni Forrest, who is Chloe’s direct report.

“Chloe’s recognition is so well deserved,” said Toni. “Her creativity is matched by a strong work ethic and maturity well beyond her years. She approaches every challenge with passion, purpose, creativity, and practicality. At just 24, the level of responsibility she manages is truly impressive. No job is too big or too small for Chloe—and we’re incredibly lucky to have her on our team.”

Chloe’s achievements extend beyond her full-time role at the Comiskey Group. In 2024, she was awarded a $1,000 Blackbird Foundation grant after successfully pitching an original app concept—becoming one of only 30 recipients selected nationally.

Whether she’s developing large-scale campaign visuals or fine-tuning a venue’s identity, Chloe brings a thoughtful and strategic lens to every piece of work. Her ability to balance creativity with practical design outcomes has made her a valued voice in the company’s long-term brand vision.

When asked what advice she’d give to other young creatives hoping to break into the industry, Chloe emphasised the importance of balance:

“Always take client feedback on board, but don’t be afraid to back yourself when you really believe in a design,” she said.“And invest in a decent hard drive!”

In addition to being named a Young Gun, Chloe is also in the running to be voted “Most Influential Young Gun”—a title determined by public vote.

🗳️ Voting is open until midnight, June 23.
